Who Should I Contact To Convert My Appliances?
Contact a license contractor – they can provide a cost estimate to convert or replace your appliances and change any piping in your home.
Will Existing Underground Facilities Be Affected?
SEMCO will notify the 811 Miss Dig system to have any publicly owned facilities identified and marked. SEMCO uses best practices to avoid those existing facilities. Customers are responsible for marking privately owned underground items where the service line will be installed. Examples of privately owned facilities include septic systems, underground wiring, sprinkler lines, invisible fences, sump pump discharge lines, or other private utilities not marked by 811.
What Will SEMCO Install?
SEMCO will install the service line from the road to your meter location. Any piping or appliance work beyond the meter is the customer’s responsibility and is typically completed by an HVAC contractor of your choice.
Where Will My Gas Meter Be Located?
The gas meter will be attached to your home at your preferred location, provided it meets safety requirements. It must be at least 3 feet from building openings and electricity, and positioned away from vehicle traffic.
What if I’ve Already Purchased Propane for the Year?
No problem. We can install our service line now so it’s ready when you are. We can install the gas meter and activate your account once you decide to switch.
