What Is the Cost for New Gas Installation?

Cost typically include but are not limited to: $50.00 for meter turn-on, a $200 connection fee and possibly an excess footage fee of $6 per ft over 100 ft. In some cases charges for the main installation may apply so please contact your area Marketing Representative.

SEMCO will notify the 811 Miss Dig system to have any publicly owned facilities identified and marked. SEMCO uses best practices to avoid those existing facilities. Customers are responsible for marking privately owned underground items where the service line will be installed. Examples of privately owned facilities include septic systems, underground wiring, sprinkler lines, invisible fences, sump pump discharge lines, or other private utilities not marked by 811.

SEMCO will install the service line from the road to your meter location. Any piping or appliance work beyond the meter is the customer’s responsibility and is typically completed by an HVAC contractor of your choice.

The gas meter will be attached to your home at your preferred location, provided it meets safety requirements. It must be at least 3 feet from building openings and electricity, and positioned away from vehicle traffic.
